As part of the ISO-standard Green Audit initiative, Nirmala College, Muvattupuzha (Autonomous), conducted internal audit training in compliance with the critical 7th criterion of NAAC. This comprehensive audit encompasses key areas such as environmental sustainability, water resource management, biodiversity conservation, occupational health and safety, carbon footprint evaluation, and energy usage assessment. The training aimed to equip the college community with the skills and knowledge necessary for a detailed and effective audit process.
The training program was inaugurated by Principal Rev. Dr. Jestin K Kuriakose, with formal addresses by Vice Principals Prof. Emmanual A J and Dr. Gigi K Joseph. Dr. Punnen Kurian, lead assessor delivered a detailed introduction to the Green Audit and facilitated the training session, setting the foundation for the college’s comprehensive environmental evaluation efforts.
A total of 56 participants were certified as internal auditors to undertake the three-month audit. The event also acknowledged the contributions of the audit committee, with special recognition for the committee head. The program was efficiently organized by Ms. Abhirami K. P., Project Manager of the Green Audit, with support of Ms. Megha Babu and Ms. Abirsha N C from TIES.
