Upcoming teachers benefit greatly from environmental awareness, enabling them to instill sustainability and responsibility in students. Integration of environmental education fosters critical thinking and empathy, shaping informed citizens capable of tackling global environmental challenges. During a three-day Enjoy Teaching session for St. Teresas TTI, Vazhapally, TTI students were immersed in various aspects of environmental education, from basic etiquette to practices such as apiculture, homewaste management, and mushroom farming. Enjoy Teaching aims to imbue a nature-oriented approach to teaching, transforming the entire learning process across subjects. The training equips teachers to associate current environmental issues with classroom teaching, raise awareness of our natural heritage's significance, develop environmental modules for subjects, and cultivate environmentally responsible students and communities. Alongside the training, a nature walk and hands-on experience in creating mushroom beds and laboratory techniques were provided. The training was attended by 65 students. The sessions were conducted by Dr. Punnen Kurian, Secretary; Sarath Babu N. B., NEO; Anju Ajikumar, Laboratory Assistant; and Carolyn Merin Philip, Project Assistant, all from TIES.
