TIES recently finished a helpful training on growing mushrooms, and Lalithamma, Issac, Juby, and others joined in with enthusiasm. Many of them tried preparing mushroom beds for the first time, showing their eagerness to learn.
The training had two main parts: Theoretical Insight were participants learned about various aspects, including Mushroom Introduction, Techniques in Tissue Culture, Mother Spawn Production Insights, Spawn Production Methodology, Efficient Bed Preparation, Post-Harvesting Technologies, and Prevention & Control of Mushroom Diseases. The other part was the Practical Exposure, in which participants had a hands-on experience, focusing on Mushroom Bed Preparation, Essential Farming Techniques, guided by esteemed trainers.
Mr. Alex John, a Subject Matter Specialist in Plant Protection from ICAR-KVK, Pathanamthitta, guided the learning of 40 people in this initiative. This effort is part of TIES' ongoing work to strengthen skills in the environmental science community.
