Mushrooms, edible fungi, have both health and economic benefits. Mushroom farming Is widely acclaimed as one of the most successful agri-business that can be managed with low space and income. As of now, mushroom farming is expanding in India, as it has become a good source of income.

TIES is offering training for the community which includes students and laymen on Mushroom Farming. Today a new batch was trained and in order to reach more people offline and the online mode was chosen. 19 participants from several parts of the Kottayam district and from other districts attended the training. The session included an introduction to mushrooms by Dr. Punnen Kurian, Secretary of TIES, followed by sessions on spawn and bed preparation. The participants who attended the session directly got a chance to prepare the bed on their own.
