Bharat Mata School of Social Work, Thrikkakara, is empowering students to become agents of change through its new sustainable campus initiative, which directly aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Fifteen second-year social work students specializing in community development actively participated in a comprehensive two-day ISO Green Audit workshop, playing a leading role in the initiative. This hands-on workshop provided them with the skills to assess campus resource usage, develop practical solutions for improving sustainability on campus, and critically evaluate existing systems to identify areas needing immediate intervention.
The workshop was led by Abhirami K. P., Green Audit Project Manager at TIES, and coordinated by Mr. Soorj M, Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work at Bharat Mata School of Social Work. The session aimed to empower students to make a tangible impact on campus resource management.
At the conclusion of the program, students shared positive feedback and provided evaluations suggesting necessary changes to further enhance sustainability efforts.
