Training for Apiculture Enthusiasts at TIES

2023-10-21

At TIES, a training on apiculture was conducted as part of our capacity-building initiatives. This educational event had a crucial mission: to promote apiculture within the community and emphasize its significance in the modern era.

Honey bees, the unsung heroes of pollination, play a vital role in our ecosystem. Unfortunately, due to escalating pollution, they are facing the threat of extinction, which could have dire consequences for both biodiversity and human existence.

Dr. Punnen Kurian gave an introductory remark during the training session. Mr. Sarath Babu NB, Nature Education Officer at TIES, demonstrated various aspects of apiculture through live videos and pictures. He also piqued participants' interest through practical sessions, during which they gained hands-on experience in handling bee colonies.

Participants were provided with membership to the TIES HONEY CLUB to ensure sustainability in apiculture by offering an interactive platform.
