Training on waste management held


A training on home waste management was held at TIES and was attended by 11 participants from several sectors of the community. The training was part of the capacity-building initiatives of TIES to equip the community in managing their household waste, especially biowaste at their homes. The training was led by Dr. Punnen Kurian with a practical demonstration session on various homewaste management techniques like pipe compost, vermicompost, Kamba compost, pit compost, etc. The demonstration session was led by Ms. Soumya S, research assistant, and lab-in-charge and also the fellowship holder of Waste to Wealth Mission, Swachhta Saarthi Fellowship. The training was also part of the Swachhta Saarathi Cohort to empower the community on the effective management of homewaste.
