Workshop on Research Methodology for Life Science Students

2024-10-18

Projects and dissertation work are vital components of academic growth, enabling students to deepen their understanding of technical concepts while cultivating complex skills necessary for real-world problem-solving. Project-based learning encourages students to engage with scientific knowledge actively, approach open-ended problems with curiosity, and develop a hands-on, inquisitive mindset that is critical for success in life sciences.

Recognizing the importance of these skills, TIES is organizing a one-day Workshop on Research Methodology specifically designed for undergraduate and postgraduate Life Science students. Scheduled for October 30th, 2024, this event will provide participants with the tools and strategies needed to embark on successful research projects and dissertations.

The workshop will offer practical sessions on selecting relevant research topics, defining objectives, and structuring a project. The goal is to help students bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and applied research. By focusing on core aspects of the scientific method and offering guidance on how to design and execute meaningful research, the workshop aims to enhance students’ research capabilities, critical thinking, and methodological rigor.

This program, offered at a nominal fee of Rs. 200/-, is tailored to Life Science students from universities across Kerala. It is designed to help participants assess their current research competencies, identify areas where they can grow, explore potential project topics, and initiate a project that aligns with their academic and professional goals.

Through this initiative, TIES seeks to foster a new generation of researchers who are not only well-versed in scientific theory but also capable of addressing real-world challenges through practical research and innovative solutions.
