The valedictory function of the Wings of Awareness programme was conducted at Government U.P. School Velluthuruthy, marking the successful completion of the environmental education initiative in the school. Prior to the formal proceedings, a post-project survey was conducted among the participating students to evaluate the impact and learning outcomes of the programme.
The official session began with a soulful prayer song by the school choir, creating a calm and meaningful atmosphere for the programme. This was followed by a warm welcome address delivered by Shrimati Nisha Raj, who graciously welcomed the members of the TIES team – Dr. Punnen Kurian (Director, TIES), Mr. Sarath Babu (Nature Education Officer, TIES), Ms. Suhaana (Project Officer – Wings of Awareness), and Ms. Vinodini S (Project Intern) – along with the Headmistress of the school, Mrs. Reena Manmadhan, and the teachers and students present for the function.
The inaugural address was delivered by Headmistress Mrs. Reena Manmadhan, who appreciated the efforts of the TIES team in implementing such a meaningful environmental education programme in the school. She also congratulated the students for their enthusiastic participation and dedication throughout the project.
The valedictory address was delivered by Dr. Punnen Kurian, Director of TIES. In his speech, he appreciated the school management and teachers for their remarkable efforts in achieving 99% student activation on the CROW App, which stands as a significant achievement. He also congratulated the school for being the institution with the highest number of top-performing students in the Wings of Awareness programme. Following his address, Dr. Punnen Kurian formally handed over the school certificate, acknowledging the school’s active participation and outstanding performance. In return, Government U.P. School Velluthuruthy presented a memento of gratitude to the TIES team, expressing their sincere thanks for selecting the school for such a valuable and meaningful project.
The programme then proceeded with the distribution of the Amateur Birder Certificates, which were presented by Mr. Sarath Babu, Headmistress Mrs. Reena Manmadhan, and Teacher Coordinator Shrimati Nisha Raj, recognizing the commendable performance of the students in the project activities.
This was followed by the distribution of Certificates of Appreciation to the participating teachers, which were presented by Dr. Punnen Kurian in recognition of their valuable support and coordination in successfully implementing the programme at the school level.
Adding to the occasion, Ms. Suhaana, Project Officer of Wings of Awareness, delivered a felicitation speech, expressing her heartfelt gratitude to the school management, teachers, and students for their enthusiastic participation and cooperation throughout the programme.
The function concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Teacher Mr. Renjith Skariah, who expressed sincere appreciation to the TIES team, the school administration, teachers, and students for their support in making the programme and the valedictory function a meaningful and memorable event.
