The Tropical Institute of Ecological Sciences (TIES) organized a Clean Drive on 2nd October 2024, commemorating Gandhi Jayanthi, under the theme "Embrace Swachh Bharat: A Clean Campus Initiative." The event saw the active participation of TIES staff and interns, all dedicated to promoting cleanliness and environmental stewardship.

The participants joined hands to clean and restore various areas of the campus and also the surrounding areas, emphasizing the importance of Swachhata (cleanliness) for both individual and societal well-being. This initiative reflects TIES' ongoing commitment to sustainable environmental practices and community engagement.

The drive was a fitting tribute to Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals of cleanliness and a clean India, inspiring collective responsibility for maintaining healthy and clean surroundings. The cleaning drive was led by Dr Punnen Kurian, Secretary, TIES.
