Inspiring Young Minds: Art for Freshwater Conservation in Munnar

TIES as part of ongoing IUCN Project at Munnar hosted a painting competition, "Colour to Conserve", at Government LP School, Munnar, promoting awareness about freshwater habitat conservation. Fifty-nine students from classes 2, 3 & 4 enthusiastically participated. Mrs. Molcy Chinnan inaugurated the session, with Mrs. Prasanna K. presiding, while Mr. Bechu Punnen Abraham extended a warm welcome.

Mr. Nihal Hussain TP led an engaging awareness class on freshwater conservation, emphasizing its significance. This was followed by the painting competition where students showcased their artistic talents, illustrating "Conservation of Freshwater Habitats." Master Rehan U. secured the first prize, followed by Master Murugan and Master Gokul Krishna.

The competition was judged by Mrs. Annamma Lizy and Mrs. Prasanna K from the school, and Mr. Bechu Punnen Abraham from TIES-IUCN Project Munnar. Mr. Praful V Panicker, Project Officer, TIES IUCN conveyed the vote of thanks. This initiative inspires young minds to creatively contribute to conservation efforts.
