TIES, under its flagship Good Water, Good Health project, successfully implemented the Jalaraksha Water Quality Testing Campaign in collaboration with the Green Valley Residents Association, Devalokam, Kottayam. This initiative aimed to ensure safe drinking water and promote better public health through scientific water testing and community education.
A total of 48 water samples from member households were collected and analyzed at the TIES laboratory to assess the safety of drinking water sources. The test results, along with specific recommendations for households with contaminated water, were distributed during a dedicated meeting held at the Kasturba Social Welfare Centre, Kanjikuzhy.
The event featured interactive awareness sessions led by Dr. Punnen Kurian, Secretary of TIES, covering key topics such as water quality parameters, practical remedial measures for contamination, and sustainable water conservation practices. Residents actively participated, gaining valuable insights into safeguarding their water sources.
By combining scientific analysis with community engagement, the Jalaraksha Campaign continues to address pressing water quality challenges while empowering local residents to take proactive steps toward clean and sustainable water management. This impactful initiative underscores TIES’s commitment to advancing environmental health and resilience in Kerala’s communities. The event was coordinated by Mr Koshi Mathew (President), Ms. Suja Kurien (Secretary), Mr. S Mohan Roy (Treasurer), Mr. Jacob Philip (Vice President) and Ms. Anoopa Mathews, Ms. Jyothilakshmi, Ms. Femi Joshy, Ms. Milu Georgr, Mr. Antony Sony and Mr. Amalson Jose from TIES.
