2025-07-04

Mar Dionysius College Pazhanji has launched an ISO-standard Green Audit, showcasing its strong dedication to sustainability. This extensive audit, aimed at facilitating NAAC accreditation, covers a broad spectrum of environmental aspects, such as environmental sustainability, management of water resources, conservation of biodiversity, occupational health and safety, analysis of carbon footprint, and energy efficiency. Its wide-ranging focus prepares the College for potential recognition through various national and international accreditations and accolades. A notable component of this initiative was the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Mar Dionysius College Pazhanji and the Tropical Institute of Ecological Sciences (TIES). The MoU, signed by Dr. Thomas Mathew, Principal of Mar Dionysius College Pazhanji, and Dr. Punnen Kurian, Director of TIES, establishes a framework for collaboration that enables TIES to perform the Green Audit and support the implementation of sustainability initiatives on campus. Dr. Benson (NACC Coordinator), Dr. Vibitha Kochamani, and Dr. Asha S Kutty (Green Audit Coordinator).

(Project Manager, TIES), this training empowered participants with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively engage in the audit process. The session offered practical insights on internal auditing techniques and their relevance to the Green Audit context. The training was overseen by faculty members Ms. Rose Jose, Dr. Jyosisena, Ms. Ann Maria Jose, Ms. Merlin Mary Thomas, Ms. Anusree M K, Ms. Sujithra U, Mr. Jaison Mohan, Mr. Nezil P.R., Ms. Chandralekha P D, and Ms. Sreenitha C, alongside Aparna Raj from TIES.
