NIRT Interns Explore Nature Conservation and Sustainability at TIES

2026-07-20

TIES was delighted to host 14 internship students from the National Institute for Rubber Training (NIRT) for an enriching learning experience at our campus.

The programme commenced with an introductory session by Dr. Punnen Kurian, Director of TIES, who provided an overview of the organisation and highlighted its diverse initiatives in biodiversity conservation, environmental education, sustainable development, and community engagement.

The students then participated in a guided nature walk across the TIES campus, led by Mr. Sarath Babu N. B., Nature Education Officer, TIES. During the walk, they explored various sustainable practices implemented on the campus and learned about the ecological significance of native species in maintaining environmental balance.

The students actively participated throughout the programme and greatly appreciated the experience, gaining valuable knowledge and practical exposure to environmental conservation and sustainable practices.
