TIES Farmer Producer Company Ltd. (TIES FPC), a Farmer
Producer Organisation(FPO), promoted by Tropical Institute of Ecological
Sciences and supported by NABARD based in Kottayam, Kerala, celebrated the
inauguration of its new office at the TIES Campus, Velloor, Pampady, on
Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. The event was attended by TIES
members, shareholders, and well-wishers. TIES FPC is promoted by the Tropical
Institute of Ecological Sciences (TIES) and
supported by NABARD.
The ceremony began with a silent prayer, setting a solemn
and hopeful tone for the occasion. Dr. Punnen Kurian, Director of TIES and
Managing Director of TIES FPC, delivered the welcome address. In his speech, he
highlighted the importance of promoting professional and sustainable
agricultural practices, emphasising the need to reduce labour dependency in the
current scenario where fewer youngsters are entering the farming sector.
Dr. Nelson P. Abraham, Vice President of TIES and Chairman
of TIES FPC, delivered the presidential address, describing the inauguration as
a “dream come true” and the fulfilment of a long-standing vision of TIES to
create a farmer-centric, sustainable enterprise.
The office was officially inaugurated by Sri Reji Varghese,
Assistant General Manager ,District Development, NABARD. In his inaugural
address, Sri Varghese commended the eco-friendly design of the new office and
appreciated the efforts of TIES in uniting a large number of shareholders under
one organisation. He extended his best wishes for the continued growth and
success of TIES FPC.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Sri Shaji
Mathew, Director of TIES FPC. He praised the initiative as an innovative step
towards strengthening the farming community and expressed confidence that with
the dedicated support of TIES and NABARD, TIES FPC would achieve remarkable
milestones in the future.
