TIES Hosts Fish Farming Training to Build Capacity in Sustainable Aquaculture Practices

Under its ongoing capacity-building initiatives, TIES recently organized a comprehensive training on fish farming, led by Mr. Surendran Nair, retired Deputy Director of Fisheries. This session introduced participants to key aspects of aquaculture, including different production systems, backyard fish farming for home use, and essential fish health management practices.

The training featured an open forum for participants to discuss and clarify their questions on fish farming, followed by practical demonstrations of two aquaculture models at TIES. Additionally, attendees were guided in the preparation of a low-cost water filtration system for aquaculture setups. The session was coordinated by Sarath Babu, NEO, TIES, and attracted 16 enthusiastic participants.
