Training on mushroom farming was held at TIES. Leelamma, Rajan, and Divya, are a few among the 33 participants who enjoyed the preparation of Mushroom beds for the first time in their life. The training was divided into two parts: a theoretical session and a practical “hands-on” experience. The session covered topics such as an introduction to mushrooms, tissue culture, Mother Spawn production, Spawn Production, Bed preparation, post-harvesting technologies, Mushroom disease management, etc. Practical training on bed preparation and other farming techniques was also given. Sessions were handled by Dr. Punnen Kurian, Secretary and Ms. Soumya S, Research Assistant and Lab-in-charge of TIES. The training was conducted as part of the capacity building initiatives of TIES.
