Projects or dissertation works has been carried out in order to develop a deeper knowledge of technical fundamentals together with the complex skills among the students. Project-based courses support students in developing their attitude to knowledge by exposure to open-ended problems. 

A one-day workshop is conducted by Tropical Institute of Ecological Sciences (TIES) on the Student Project on 6th November 2023. The training also includes practical sessions on the selection of topics and setting objectives. UG and PG students in Life Science from universities in Kerala can participate in this workshop. The objective of the workshop is to train the students on the scientific method. The fee for the programme is Rs. 200/-. This one-day workshop on student academic project is designed to help undergraduate and post graduate students to assess their current skills and areas for growth, explore potential projects and start one that aligns with their goals.
