Bees For Life

TIES was into Apiculture for more than a decade now and the organization provides regular training to beekeepers in and around the region. We also provide support to Corporates, institutions and individuals for establishing bee colonies among various community sectors (households of marginal farmers, labourers, destitute women, urban dwellers, etc.). School-based outreach programmes were also implemented under the aegis of TIES.

Bees for Life Project, a sustainable apiculture programme from TIES, is aimed to create and provide livelihood support to marginal farmers that will form part of the conservation initiatives of the organization. Livelihood support, ecosystem services and conservation of native species, as well as guaranteed pure honey, are the major objectives that led to the project. The role of adulterated honey in the market and profit loss to the beekeepers are the main issues faced in the field. As part of the project TIES will provide live honey bee boxes to the target community, institutions, etc; training to the stakeholders on maintenance, honey and wax collection, value-added products preparations, marketing, etc. and also all the required equipment’s.
